I would like to book an appointment with you for a private consultation re chronic pain situation and related issues. I took one of your wonderful courses at the St. Mike’s College campus 10 years ago, loved every minute of it, and remember it like it was yesterday!! Even Wikipedia can be wrong…that’s right…

Gould’s mother taught him, but he already had perfect pitch and could read music before he could read. His unusual posture at the piano and bizarre technique are essentially the product of his self-tutoring. Let’s let that read “essentially” self-taught, like all prodigies, from Paul Morphy to Angus Young.

As a young child, Gould was taught piano by his mother. At the age of 10, he began attending The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

The above quote is from Wikipedia. Gould was not self taught, and at the Royal Conservatory there is a special school called The Glen Gould School, which is for outstanding young musicians. Saying he was self taught makes for a better story I guess. I am a student at the Royal Conservatory. Cheers.
