Great guitar! I’m a “Talking to Todlers” customer coming on over thru email. Thank you both much for these lessons. Chris thanks for the heads up.
Outstanding job with the podcast itself, There is no where for me to rate it here but: *****
I have quit smoking cigarettes recently but now smoke an e-cigarette. This is only a side goal for me but you had asked about people quitting smoking.
My goal here is to improve my relationship with my daughters’ mother- my ex. And maybe improve my employment situation (got decent job not too horrible.)
I’ll be meditating on the Liana (sp?) vine.
Thank you both!
Yours,
Andrew Hargrove

Hi Jeff,

The Salad cards from Jamie Smart are excellent. I know Mike recommends them, and we both own a copy of them. The key to learning hypnotic language patterns is to keep it simple and focus on developing the “hypnotic voice”, which should be different from your normal talking voice but not weird and over the top like you hear from some hypnotists. It should be relaxing, slower, deliberate, and just “different” from when you’re speaking to someone’s conscious mind. This is a very good question for discussion on another podcast episode!

The format between you and Mike is very educational, informative, and fun. Plus, the therapeutic metaphor at the end is a great bonus!

I do have a question from Pod Series 2. That was a great statement around understanding the purpose of hypnotic scripts as training wheels. To budding hypnosis students, what would suggest as the best training method to quickly learn and integrate hypnotic language patterns? Eriksonian “Salad” cards or just looking at the language patterns, memorizing them and attempting to use it in everyday speech naturally and easily?

Thanks for the great work you all are doing! With much gratitude from Phoenix AZ.

Jully – fantastic! I love listening to this one too. Particularly love the part where Mike explains about the “magic question” on track 1 (the story about kids living up in the north of Canada who were very depressed, etc). Asking “What do you want” is truly magical. And you can ask that question to yourself too.
