David – I fixed the link. Thank you very much for mentioning this. I somehow malformed the URL when creating the original link.

Hi Mike : I talked with my Sister Friend about my feelings that truly I believe once we truly trust imagination in healing then I do not see where I need to take another Modelity. and I use my own imagination to heal with in my own issues and others and the animals I have cross my path. So again the words “anything is possible” I sure love your take on Hypnosis , and alwasy have . I can hear you even now in my mind , when you taught us a few years ago. As long as I believe it does not seem to matter and most clients I had muscle motor responses from , unless they did not trust me for some reason or trust hypnosis , It has always worked with rapport . I do not have a practic e in hypnosis , any longer, however like I know my life is as if an on going Meditatiom LOL so is hypnosis my everyday language I have a huge imagination LOL I am an Artist so visuals come easily . And words have power and a great responsibitiyt for the words I choose.
I learn this from you and Gord. Blessings Sheilagh Mercer

A hypnotizability scale seems about as useless as a date-ability scale for chicks. The study essentially says the same stimulus (hypnosis) produces a different response in different people. Giving the same stimulus to different people is not advisable (what you have said). I would add that it is not possible. Even reading scripts, readers will vary in performance for numerous reasons. Maybe Spiegel could dangle a pocket watch and prove nobody can be hypnotized.

I was at a conference on Consciousness this summer and a prof from McGill gave a lecture on hypnosis. He described the Stanford results as absolute and repeatable – even to the extent that a person’s score on the Stanford scale is as stable as their IQ. I.e. people who are not hypnotic able are not hypnotizable all through their lives.

Then, in response to a question, he allowed as to how in medical emergencies, anyone at all could be hypnotized.

And he didn’t perceive any contradiction at all.
